2026/2027 Decathlon: Event Summary: College Football

Minor tweaks to the NCAA postseason for 2025/2026: The 5 highest ranked conference title game winners are in the playoffs. 7 more teams earn a playoff berth based on their rankings. The top 4 (regardless of conference title status) get a bye. Teams 5-8 host a playoff game vs teams 9-12 in the first round. The 4 winners advance to face the 4 teams with byes in the quarterfinals. These games will be played in traditional bowls, as will the semifinals. The final two teams standing play in the National Championship. Capital One and ESPN brand the whole thing. Q1: 2025 Regular Season The top ~50 teams have been tiered. Select eight teams (4 from Tier1 and 4 from Tier2). In Tier1, you must select 4 teams with a max seed budget of 30 In Tier2, you must select 4 more teams with a max budget of 22 Your eight selected teams will earn points as follows: ...7 pts for each win (regular season, conference title or postseason) ..20 pts for a playoff berth ..15 pts for a conference title game win that does not result in a playoff berth* ..10 pts for a bowl or playoff win** ..10 pts for a National Championship berth ..20 pts for a National Championship title * Independents cannot claim this bonus ** Teams can and will earn multiple playoff wins; a bye is not a win There are a few more NCAA football teams out there. If you wish to select a team which we didn't load, just email sportsdecathlon@yahoo.com and we'll get it loaded into Tier2 as a 1seed. Picks lock Thu 8/28 before the first game Q2: 2025/26 CFP 12 teams are in the bracket; we've seeded them 2 thru 10. Choose 3 that total no more than 22 seed points. Each team you selected will earn: ...5 pts for each playoff win ...5 pts for a semifinal berth ..15 pts for a Championship berth ..25 pts for a National Championship Picks lock at kickoff of the first game (Dec19, 5p Pacific) Q3: 2025/26 Bowls We've selected 15 Bowls from Dec 27 thru Jan 2. Pick 10 teams and earn 7 pts each for beating the spread in each of your picks. You may choose any 10 winners. You can even pick both sides of a matchup if you'd like to lock in a win a loss. The CFP Quarterfinals are included in the slate of bowls you can choose from. Your regular season picks will continue to earn bonuses for winning bowl or playoff games outright.
